If you changed your Wi-Fi name or password, installed a new router, or moved your lamp to a new location, you may need to reconnect it to Wi-Fi.
Good news — reconnecting your lamp will not remove it from your group. If your lamp is already registered to your account, all of your settings will remain the same after reconnecting.
💡 Network Tip: Friendship Lamps connect to 2.4 GHz WiFi networks.
If your router combines 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz into one network name, your lamp will usually still connect automatically. If setup fails, you may need to temporarily enable or switch to a 2.4 GHz network.
Reconnecting Using the Friendship Lamp App
Open the Friendship Lamp app.
Tap Wi-Fi Setup.
Select Setup My Lamp.
Follow the prompts to connect your lamp to the new Wi-Fi network. (Full walkthrough here)
Once the lamp connects, it will automatically rejoin your group.
📱 Important: Make sure the phone running the app is connected to the same WiFi network you want the lamp to use during setup.
Helpful Information
Your Friendship Lamp can remember two Wi-Fi networks at the same time.
This is helpful if you regularly move your lamp between locations (for example, between home and a vacation house). Once both networks are saved, the lamp will reconnect automatically when it returns to either one.
If Your Lamp Won’t Connect
If your lamp doesn’t reconnect during setup, you may need to reset it.
Reset Instructions
Keep the lamp plugged in.
Unplug and plug the lamp back in four times quickly.
After the fourth time, the lamp will begin a reset sequence.
Depending on your firmware version, you may see one of the following:
Firmware 1.9.1 and newer
The lamp turns solid orange for about 30 seconds.
During this time, tap and hold the top of the lamp firmly three times.
The lamp will flash rainbow colors, then blink green when it is ready for setup.
Older firmware
The lamp will show a slow rainbow, then begin flashing green.
A blinking lime green/yellow light means the lamp is ready to connect to WiFi. Once the lamp is flashing, repeat the Wi-Fi Setup steps in the app.
If You Use a Filimin Bridge
If your lamp is connected through a Filimin Bridge, changing your Wi-Fi name or password will not disconnect the lamp.
However, if you replace your router or move the bridge to a different network, you will need to reconnect the bridge to your router.
