Which Setup Method Should I Use for My Friendship Lamp?

Friendship Lamps connect to Wi-Fi in one of two ways:

• App Setup (bridgeless) – our most popular and current method

• Bridge Setup – optional, with a Filimin Bridge (available for purchase)

Option 1: App Setup (Bridgeless)

This is the most common setup method and works great for nearly all users.

You’ll need:

• A mobile device (phone or tablet)

• Access to your 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network name and password

Once connected, your Friendship Lamp will remember your network info and stay connected on its own!

This setup is ideal for:

• Anyone using a mobile device

• Shared/public Wi-Fi networks (like dorms or care homes)

• People without access to their router or LAN ports

• Users who had issues with a bridge in the past

Don’t Have a Mobile Device?

No worries! You can use our Advanced Setup method on any wireless device (like a laptop). Learn about Advanced Setup

Option 2: Bridge Setup (Optional Add-On)

While we no longer include a bridge by default, you can purchase a Filimin Bridge separately if you'd prefer a plug-and-play experience.

The bridge connects directly to your router using an Ethernet cable and creates a small 2.4 GHz network for your lamp.

A bridge is helpful if:

• You don’t know your Wi-Fi password

• You don’t want to use the app

• You’re using a single-band 5 GHz router

• You want a simple, automatic connection
