If your Friendship Lamp appears to be online but the other lamps in your group are not lighting up, the issue may be related to a temporary connection hiccup, group membership, the receiving lamp’s connection, touch settings, or how the touch was sent.
Start with a quick restart before moving into deeper troubleshooting.
1. Restart your lamp
A quick restart often resolves temporary communication issues.
- Unplug your lamp from power.
- Wait 10 seconds.
- Plug it back in.
- Wait for the startup lights to finish.
A rainbow pattern followed by darkness usually means the lamp is back online and ready to send or receive touches.
Avoid touching the lamp while it is starting up, because the touch sensor calibrates when power is restored.
2. Test the lamp again
After the lamp reconnects, place your full palm on the touch-sensitive area for a few seconds.
If the other lamps light up, no further troubleshooting is needed.
If they still do not light up, continue with the steps below.
3. Confirm that your lamp is online
A lamp usually shows a brief rainbow pattern and then goes dark when it connects successfully.
If your lamp is blinking green, yellow, orange, or blue, it may not be fully online yet.
See Friendship Lamp Status Lights: What Each Color Means for help identifying the light pattern.
4. Confirm that the other lamps are online
For a touch to be received, the other lamps in the group must also be connected to the internet.
Ask the other people in your group to check whether their lamps are:
- Plugged in
- Connected to Wi-Fi
- Not blinking a connection status color
- Able to receive touches from others
If one lamp is offline, the rest of the group may still work normally.
5. Make sure the lamps are in the same group
Friendship Lamps only send touches to lamps in the same group.
If the lamps are not in the same group, they will not light up together.
Check the group settings in the Friendship Lamps App or web manager and confirm that each intended lamp is included.
6. Check whether a lamp was recently claimed
If a lamp is claimed by an account that is not already part of its current group, the lamp may be removed from that group.
This can happen when:
- A gifted lamp is claimed by the recipient
- A lamp is transferred to a new owner
- Someone signs in with a different account
- A secondhand lamp is claimed
- A lamp is re-registered after setup
If this happened, the lamp will need to be invited back to the intended group.
7. Test whether your lamp responds to touch locally
Touch your lamp and watch whether it lights up.
If your lamp does not light up when touched, the issue may be with the touch sensor rather than the group connection.
See Why Isn’t My Friendship Lamp Responding to Touch?
8. Use a full-palm touch
Friendship Lamps respond best to a firm, steady touch.
Place your full palm on the touch-sensitive area for a few seconds instead of tapping quickly with one finger.
Avoid touching the lamp while it is starting up, because the touch sensor calibrates when the lamp powers on.
9. Sleep Time
The receiving lamp may be lighting up more dimly or briefly than expected.
Check the receiving lamp’s settings for:
- Sleep Time
If Sleep Time is active, the lamp may only light dimly or briefly.
10. Confirm the selected color is visible
Some colors may be harder to notice depending on the lamp style, room lighting, or brightness setting.
Try selecting a brighter, more visible color.
White is not an available Friendship Lamp color option. You can customize the available colors and adjust shades, but white is not selectable as a lamp color.
11. Check whether you are using Remote Touch or Circles
A physical touch on the lamp sends to the lamp’s regular group.
Remote Touch and Circles are app-based features and may send to selected people or smaller groups instead.
If you used the app to send the touch, confirm whether you sent it to:
- The whole group
- One person
- A Circle
- A different lamp than expected
See How Do Circles Work? for more information.
12. Test from another lamp in the group
Ask someone else in the group to touch their lamp.
This helps identify whether:
- Your lamp can receive touches
- Their lamp can send touches
- Only one lamp is affected
- The entire group is affected
If your lamp receives touches but does not send them, the issue may be with your lamp’s touch sensor or group settings.
If your lamp sends touches but does not receive them, the issue may be with the other lamp or its settings.
13. Check the app or web manager
Sign in to the Friendship Lamps App or manager.filimin.com and confirm:
- The correct Lamp ID is shown
- The lamp appears in the correct group
- The lamp is not linked to an old or unexpected account
- Settings look correct
- The lamp is online, if status is available
