Yes, you can receive phone notifications when someone in your group sends a touch, but notifications require the Friendship Lamps App and an active subscription feature.
Notifications are separate from the lamp lighting up. Your lamp can still receive touches from your group even if phone notifications are not enabled.
How notifications work
When notifications are enabled, the Friendship Lamps App can send a push notification to your phone when your synced lamp receives a touch from someone in your group.
For example, if your sister touches her lamp and your synced lamp receives that touch, the app can notify you on your phone.
Requirements for notifications
To receive notifications, make sure:
- You have the Friendship Lamps App installed
- Your lamp is linked in the app
- Your phone allows notifications from the Friendship Lamps App
- Your lamp is online
- Your lamp is in a group with the person sending the touch
- You have an active subscription feature that includes notifications
Notifications are tied to the synced lamp
The app can only be actively synced to one lamp at a time for notifications.
If you have multiple lamps, you may need to choose which lamp is currently synced in the app. Switching the synced lamp changes which lamp sends notifications to your phone.
For example, if your app is synced to your living room lamp, you will receive notifications for touches received by that lamp. If you switch the app to your bedroom lamp, notifications will apply to the bedroom lamp instead.
Can I get notifications from more than one lamp?
A single phone can only be actively synced to one lamp at a time for notifications.
If you want notifications for more than one lamp, you may need to switch the synced lamp in the app or use another device/account for another lamp.
Do all lamps need a subscription for notifications?
Notifications are an app subscription feature.
Most Friendship Lamps and Frames do not need a subscription for normal lamp-to-lamp communication, but phone notifications require an active subscription feature.
FriendLi lamps require an active subscription for each FriendLi lamp to work.
Turn on phone notification permissions
If you have an active subscription but are not receiving notifications, check your phone settings.
On your phone or tablet:
- Open your device settings.
- Find the Friendship Lamps App.
- Make sure notifications are allowed.
- Confirm that banners, sounds, or lock-screen notifications are enabled if desired.
You may also need to check Focus Mode, Do Not Disturb, or battery-saving settings.
Make sure the correct lamp is synced
Open the Friendship Lamps App and confirm that the lamp you want notifications for is the one currently linked or synced.
If needed, switch to the correct lamp in the app.
Notifications are not the same as Remote Touch
Remote Touch lets you send a touch from your phone through the Friendship Lamps App.
Notifications let your phone alert you when your synced lamp receives a touch.
Both are app-based features, but they are not the same thing.
Still not receiving notifications?
Try these steps:
- Confirm your subscription is active.
- Confirm the correct lamp is synced in the app.
- Check that the lamp is online.
- Make sure the lamp is in the correct group.
- Turn phone notifications off and back on.
- Close and reopen the app.
- Restart your phone.
- Reinstall the app if needed.
