If your Friendship Lamp is acting like it’s being touched when no one is near it, or if it won’t respond when you do touch it, you might be experiencing a Phantom Touch or No Touch issue. Here are a few things you can try to get your lamp back on track:
🧰 Try These Steps First:
-
Unplug your lamp, then plug it back in.
Be sure to set the lamp down first—calibration happens as soon as it powers up, so touching or holding it during startup can throw it off. -
Don’t touch it until the rainbow finishes.
Wait until your lamp finishes the startup rainbow sequence before touching it. Also, make sure the cord isn’t resting against the lampshade. -
Use your whole palm.
Touch sensors are located under the black trim at the top and sides of the shade. A quick tap on the white surface might not register—try gently pressing your full palm along the edge. -
Move your lamp to a new spot.
Other electronics, metal furniture, or smart devices might be causing interference. Try plugging it in across the room or even in another area of your home. -
Give it a few minutes.
If the calibration was a bit off at startup, the lamp may adjust itself within 5–10 minutes. Just leave it on and try again shortly.
