Yes — but we recommend a slightly different approach to make things easier.
Each Friendship Lamp must meet three requirements to communicate:
- Be connected to WiFi
- Be claimed to a Friendship Lamps account
- Be in the same group
- Have an active subscription (for FriendLi lamps)
Because each person typically uses their own account and device, the easiest setup is:
✅ Recommended Setup
-
Set up your lamp at home
- Connect it to WiFi
- Claim it to your account
- Confirm it’s working
- Send the second lamp to your loved one
-
Your loved one will:
- Plug in the lamp
- Connect it to WiFi
- Create their own account
- Claim their lamp
-
Invite them to your group
- Once they accept, your lamps will connect 💛
💡 Can I set up both lamps myself?
Technically yes — but:
- Both lamps would be tied to your account
- You would need enough subscription slots for both lamps
- Your loved one would not have their own account unless you transfer access later
Because of this, it can make things more complicated than necessary.
💳 Covering the subscription for your loved one
If you’d like to pay for their subscription:
- Activate a multi-lamp subscription plan (for example, 2-lamp plan in either monthly or yearly)
- You can send a gift card (Apple App Store or Google Play, depending on their phone)
👤 Why use separate accounts?
We recommend each person creates their own Friendship Lamps account.
This allows:
- Each person to manage their own lamp settings
- Easier troubleshooting if needed
- No need to share login information
Lamps will still connect perfectly as long as they’re in the same group
💛 Good to know
Even if you don’t test both lamps together ahead of time, you’re covered!
If anything isn’t working when your loved one receives their lamp, our team is happy to help — and replacements are available if needed.
