My Friendship Lamp came with a Filimin Bridge, which setup method should I use?

Did your Friendship Lamp come with a bridge? If so, neat! You have two options for setup: Bridge Setup and App Setup (bridgeless). If your Friendship Lamp did not come with a bridge, click here for setup instructions.

Option 1: Bridge Setup

If your Friendship Lamp was manufactured from 2018-2021, it may include a bridge kit. The kit includes your bridge, the bridge power cord, and an Ethernet cord. The kit you receive may look slightly different from the one pictured below, but it will contain the same three components.

To use the bridge kit to connect your Friendship Lamp to Wi-Fi, you'll need to plug the bridge into an open LAN port on your router or modem. The bridge will also need to be plugged into a power outlet.

This setup is perfect for:

1. Anyone who's unsure about how to use our app or Manager website
2. Anyone who doesn't know their Wi-Fi password
3. Anyone who doesn't have any other wireless devices to do the bridgeless setup from
4. Anyone who uses a single-band 5 GHz router (no available 2.4 GHz network)

Option 2: App Setup (bridgeless)

Setting up your Friendship Lamp without a bridge requires you to save your Wi-Fi network's name and password to your lamp's memory. Once this information is saved, your lamp will be able to access your network all by itself. This setup process requires you to have a mobile device that you can use to download our app and complete the setup steps to configure your Friendship Lamp to a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network.

This setup is perfect for:

1. Anyone wanting to set up their device to a shared/public Wi-Fi network or hotspot
2. Anyone who does not have access to their router/modem, or their router has no available LAN ports
3. Anyone who experienced connectivity issues with their Friendship Lamp when using the bridge setup method

Don't have a mobile device? No problem! You can still set up your Friendship Lamp using our Advanced Setup method, which works on any wireless device.
